18/04/2005 ---------------------------------------- ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!! Mood: NOt very good!! Yes squirrellies, I'm not in the best mood. Well actually, I wasn't but now I feel great. "Why were you in a pisser?" I hear you all ask. Well most of you guys probably already know from Alan's entries in the guestbook or from us telling you personally on Thursday. *sets the scene* It was Thursday and I had knocked off work without overtime so that I could prepare for the big gig. The numero uno gig-o. I burned CDs, learned my lyrics and tried to practice singing (emphasis on tried). I warmed up and even ironed my shirt especially. Got ready, shouted at Alan to get moving as well (poor Swal) and went for the train. got to the union (where it was being held) and got stopped at the door going in. *Gasp!* Whatever could the problem be? As the bouncer went away to check, we all joked about how un-funny it would be if it was the wrong night, and low-and-behold, it was!!! *Gasp again!* With 27 tickets sold we were then faced with the dilemma of trying to stop you all from arriving, only to face the same problem as ourselves. Very pissed off. Once we got home I decided to load up FFXI to drown my sorrows in a good ol' dose of escapism. That didn't work either! ='( Apparently I wasn't the administrator, but more on that later. I slept in for work the next day but got there just on time, all be it, in a scruffy state. Done the same as the day before, only this time the gig was on. We were minus all fans due to the fuck up and their need to work- now that their days off were fucked. Nothing worse than a feeling of impending doom before a big gig. And that’s where all the bands/ staff came in. We told them all about the fuck up, and stressed the fact that it was the organisers fault for giving us the wrong date, and although they couldn't do anything about it really, they supported us 100% all night. It was great. There wasn't much chance of getting through even with the fans, so we weren't expecting to, but it would have been nice to play to all you guys since we haven't given you what you wanted for AGES. The bands that we got to speak to were amazing to say the least. They were so supportive of our situation it made me feel like we were playing the best gig ever! They kept us smiling through the whole night and sounded great. BIGGEST SHOUT OUT EVER TO Elmo AND Tranquil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out their sites, Plz. The staff were great as well, and even although they were the cause of our troubles on Thursday, they were so good on the night that we couldn't stay too pissed. I really want to thank the sound tech for giving us his vote. We were the only ones he voted for, and he seemed like he really liked our set. I mean, we only got about 8 votes when the others were getting 200, but at least we kept smiling. With regards to FFXI. I hate it!! No I don't. Sorry *strokes the CDs lovingly* But I was getting this same error over and over again, and nobody could help me. Not HP, Microsoft or various forum administrators (not that they all didn't try). I got it though. My self, free from the help of others. Well really I found a thread on a forum that did it. Turns out HiJackThis deleted a reg. file I needed. I'm updating all the files I need now, and by night, I should be kicking it in Vana' Deil with the gorgeous Naku =p ---- Update (3 hours after installing FFXI) ---- Turns out that after my hard work getting FFXI installed, my computer's graphics card sux. It is 4 years old but I figured it would be cool (lol). Me thinks I'll be getting a new Ati radeon for my birthday. Hummmmm.... my birthday. I wonder what I can do for the site that day.
